The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its women’s volleyball All-Stars yesterday, and among the chosen list of winners was CSI senior Vanessa Reyes, who was voted on to the All-Sportsmanship Team.  Reyes has been a big contributor for four years for the Dolphins, representing proper play and impeccable sportsmanship along the way.

A face in the lineup since her freshman year, Reyes accumulated 102 games played over her illustrious career, tallying 321 career kills, 181 service aces, 725 digs and 27 blocks.  What’s more, however, is her brand of leadership.  One of only two seniors, Reyes was called on to provide a steadying force as an extension of the coaching staff, and CSi as a unit went through three different head coaches during her career.  The galvanizing force was an instrumental one in helping an otherwise young roster come together for a respectable 2017 campaign.

Brooklyn College’s Sarina Rozek was named the CUNYAC’s Player of the Year, while Hunter College’s Emily Wasson earned Rookie of the Year honors.  Brooklyn’s Mateusz Gotowicki was given Coach of the Year laurels.
