Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). It is an annual observance on Nov. 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

Posters dedicated to some of the Trans people killed this year in the U.S. have been placed in buildings 1C, 1P, 1L, 1A, and 2A. Please take the time to read about their lives and the struggles that our Trans community members continue to face.

So far this year, 25 trans people have been murdered. That is 25 too many. We must continue to educate and advocate for our trans family and bring our society to accept them and keep them safe.

More information is available online.

Today can be hard for many. If you are in need of someone to talk to, the LGBTQ Resource Center (Building 1C, Room 225) is open until 5:00pm today and the Counseling Center (Building 1A, Room 109) is a great place to turn to, as well.
