The College of Staten Island swimming & diving teams are back in action today, participating in the Drew University Invitational in Madison, NJ, a two-day event that will feature a handful of teams battling throughout the weekend in day and evening preliminary and final heats.

Players to Watch (CSI): For CSI, they have been heavy at the top this season, highlighted by senior Ewa Wojciechowska, who leads all CSI swimmers with 137 total points earned and 12 first-place finishes, seven more than any other Dolphin.  Look for Alicia Defonte to also help guide the Dolphins’ scoring, as she has registered 81 total points and has a total 10 Top 3 finishes in individual events.  Alyssa Dunn and Jessica Shaw have been pacing CSI in diving, both performing on the 1-meter platform.  On the men’s side, Jonathan Gorinshteyn is maintaining a great pace, leading the squad with 122 total points, and leading the way with both eight first-place finishes and 12 Top 3 finishes in individual events.  Nicholas Defone is tied with divers Sdil El Haddad and Ayman El Haddad with six first-place finishes.  Pete Carle has been a big factor in relays this season, tied for the team-lead with six Top 3 finishes in relay events.
News & Notes: The Drew University Invitational is a two-day event with five different sessions stretched across Friday and Saturday, all at the Drew university pool.  Preliminary rounds will take place in the morning, with finals set for the evening.  Diving will be a standalone segment on Saturday afternoon.  For a complete rundown of events, see the links attached.
