The College of Staten Island women’s basketball team got back on the hardwood after a holiday lay-up, and despite a tough, road overtime loss, senior Christina Pasaturo was named the CUNYAC Player of the Week for her efforts. The Preseason Player of the Year in the conference, this is the third weekly honor for Pasaturo this season.
Already CSI’s all-time leading scorer, Pasaturo poured in a season-high 33 points on 14-26 shooting, notching four three’s as well in last week’s lone game against Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She also tallied four rebounds, one assist, one block and a steal and never came off of the court, playing the full 45 minutes of play. For the season, Pasaturo is averaging 24.4 points per game with 4.7 rebounds per game through 10 games. She is also CSI’s leader in assists (40), Steals (39), and three-point baskets (40).
The Dolphins will get ready for a busier week this week. They will host Lehman College on Wednesday to continue CUNYAC play, then take to the road for another CUNYAC game against Baruch College on Saturday. They will wrap up the week on Sunday, when they host Lancaster Bible at 1pm.
