The College of Staten Island athletic department is hereby announcing the forfeiture of two contests after self-reporting a NCAA rule violation with the CUNY Athletic Conference. The forfeited games were against York College (1/27/18) and Medgar Evers College (1/30/18). As a result, the team’s record will drop to 16-5 overall and 10-3 within the CUNY Athletic Conference.

After learning of the violation, CSI’s athletic department immediately contacted the CUNYAC and is preparing a self-reporting statement with the NCAA.  Statistics from those games will stand.

Conversely, the CSI men’s basketball team has been issued a win by forfeiture due to a rule infraction on the part of York College on 1/27/18.  CSI’s win-loss record will be adjusted to 12-10 overall and 10-3 in the CUNYAC.

We regret that due to privacy concerns we cannot provide further information.  We can verify, however, that the nature of the violation at CSI is isolated and will be remedied through changes in the Athletic Department’s administrative procedures.
