Any full-time non-teaching instructional staff employees in the HEO, CLT, Research Associate, or Research Assistant titles who seek to engage in a teaching or non-teaching assignment, in addition to their regular, full-time assignment, are required to complete and submit the Application for Multiple Position for Non-Teaching Instructional Staff to Human Resources prior to commencing the multiple position.
As a reminder, for the titles listed above, a multiple position is an assignment that is different from, and in addition to, an employee’s regular full-time assignment and is limited to the following:
- an average of three contact hours per week for teaching assignments OR
- six hours per week for non-teaching assignments
Please be mindful that such work may not be undertaken during an employee’s normal working hours and split schedules are prohibited pursuant to Article 15.4 (d) of the PSC-CUNY contract.
For teaching assignments, a completed application must be received by Human Resources prior to the start of the semester or summer session in which the employee seeks to teach.
For non-teaching assignments, a PAF, which includes a description of the part-time work, must be attached to the completed application when it is submitted to Human Resources. Said documentation must be received and approved by HR prior to commencement of the assignment.
