We are pleased to announce that on Monday, Sept.24, CSI is hosting the 2019 Charter Revision Commission Public Hearing for the Borough of Staten Island. The Public Hearing will take place at 6:00pm in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Williamson Theatre (doors open at 5:45pm).

The New York City Charter, established by the State Legislature in 1897, is the City’s constitution, creating the framework for our government. The Charter controls how the City spends our tax dollars, how decisions are made about changes to our neighborhoods, and the powers of our elected officials. Nearly 30 years ago, a Charter Revision Commission overhauled the city’s government. Now, the 2019 Charter Revision Commission is conducting a comprehensive review of the Charter and is working with communities to think of ways to improve our local government.

Additional information concerning the Public Hearing is online.
