In keeping with tradition, the Office of Information Technology Services would like to share our 2017-2018 Annual Report, which highlights our accomplishments as well as insight to future initiatives. The format has changed due to ADA compliance, so please be sure to navigate by clicking on the left navigation panel and the embedded links on the page. Some of the high points include information about wireless access, training, computer upgrades, and Internet of Things (IOT).

Speaking of IOT, we would like to share the following initiatives in support of improved services to our College community.

  • System Status: You may have noticed in the lobby of the Library (Building 1L) and the Third Floor of Building 2A (directly outside the elevator) system availability updates. We are in the process of making this available in the Campus Center (Building 1C), as well as posting this real-time information on our Website (needs to be ADA compliant).
  • Computer Availability: Students are now able to see on the Website how many computers are available in a public lab without having to physically go to that location. Linking directly from the home page main menu, online resources (Information Technology Services/computer labs/real time computer availability), students will be able to see the exact number of computers available as well as a color-coded map showing the location of these available computers.
  • Bus Tracking (coming soon): A bus-tracking system for real-time arrival and departure times from the CSI Campus and St. George Ferry Terminal using open-source software and hardware, Google maps, and GIS technology is coming soon.

We would love to hear from you. Please email me with any suggestions that you might have about technology services at the College. Have a wonderful semester.
