The College of Staten Island women’s basketball squad will step on the court in New York, NY for their first CUNYAC action of the season tonight against, CCNY.  The women are coming off of a tough loss and will want to start their CUNYAC season off with a win tonight.

Players to Watch (CSI): Vassageia Watson started her first career game in their last outing, logging 24 minutes and adding five points. Megan McEwan continues to be the top point getter for the Dolphins but logged a season-low 10 points against Mount St. Mary. McEwan will need to return to form to help bring the Dolphins back into the win column. Diana Todaro will need to protect the boards better after snagging just four rebounds in their last outing. Todaro leads the team with 37 total rebounds and averages 7.4 per game. 
Players to Watch (CCNY): Ashely Brooks and Emily Arias both lead the Beavers in scoring, averaging 10.2 points per game this season. Brooks also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 9.2 rebounds per game. Crystal Blair has started four games this season and leads the team with 2.2 assists per game while adding 8.8 points per game. Blair, however, sits second on the team with 18 turnovers.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have dominated this series which began in 1981. Since then, Staten Island and CCNY have played 62 games with the Dolphins holding a 40-22 edge. The Dolphins have lost just one game to the Beavers since 1997, going 31-1 over that span. The loss came in 2016 at the Nat Holman Gym which was the first loss there since 1996. As a team, the Beavers are averaging 55 points per game while the Dolphins are averaging 57 points per game and holding their opponents to 54 points.
