The College of Staten Island men’s & women’s swimming & diving team is fresh off of a big victory against CUNYAC-rivals Lehman College on Friday evening, and will now turn around to face FDU-Florham on both the men’s and women’s sides this afternoon for a 12pm matinee as part of non-conference action.

Players to Watch (CSI): CSI had a big evening last night on both sides and will look to keep the positive momentum going.  Alicia Defonte took a pair of gold medal finishes in her races, while Gabriella Bartley and Lisnette Solano continued their great times in the pool.  Kimberly Hernandez put in two gold medal relays and a first place finish as well.  Divers had a first time to showcase last night and will again today.  Alyssa Dunn and Jen Basini starred for the women and Xavier Nicholson good first on the one and three-meter boards.  In men’s individual action, look for Alex Semchenko and Khaled Hammam to figure into the mix in every race along with Leo Litovsky and Michael Stora.  Michael Blacharski will be making his diving debut this season in this afternoon’s meet as well.
Players to Watch (FDU): On the men’s side look for swimmers like Eric Bang to lead the way while Nicholas DiBenedetto will excel in butterfly events.  Josh Atkins is a mainstay in the freestyle events so look for him to make a splash there.  On the women’s side Molly Miller is a swimmer to watch for sure as she has been setting records this season for the Devils in the freestyle events.  Look for Gianna Ritto, Erika Barandica and Munro McLaren to also look to steady a small FDU roster in today’s meet.
News & Notes: These two teams met for the first time ever a year ago at CSI, and they are returning this season as CSI tries to get even in the series, while FDU will look to win their first meets of the year.  FDU is 0-2 as they have dropped meets to Wilkes University and William Paterson University.  They also are coming off participation in the Drew University Invitational.
