The College of Staten Island women’s basketball squad hits the road tonight to take on bitter CUNYAC rival, Brooklyn College. The Dolphins are coming off of a dominating win over Baruch College in the CUNYAC Quarterfinal round to set up the rubber match tonight.

All-Time Series: CSI leads, 38-21
Last Meeting: February 2, 2019 – Brooklyn won, 70-60
Players to Watch (CSI): Megan McEwan lifted the Dolphins to the win over Baruch College with a career-high 27 points. McEwan had her way with the Bearcats, getting to the rim at will and when she was denied the lane she converted her jumpers. McEwan has had mixed reviews against Brooklyn this season. In their win in early January, McEwan had a season-low 3 points, however, in their loss, McEwan scored 17 points. Kayla Schmitter will need to make an impact in tonight’s game. Schmitter will have to use her size to alter shots below the basket while also converting her attempts at the offensive end. Diana Todaro has also seen her ups and downs against Brooklyn. After leading the Dolphins with 17 points and 11 rebounds in their win, Todaro was held to just 9 points and 6 rebounds. Todaro will look to replicate her performance in their first meeting as the Dolphins look to punch their ticket to the CUNYAC Finals for the third straight year.
Players to Watch (BC): The Bulldogs have been dormant since Wednesday, February 13 where the easily took care of business against Medgar Evers College. Taylor George led the team with 17 points while also picking up 4 assists. George was all over the Dolphins in their last meeting, dishing out 6 assists and picking off 6 passes. However, in their most recent meeting with the Dolphins, it was Chanel Jemmott that dominated the stat sheet. Jemmott tallied 24 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and swiped away 3 shots in the win. The Dolphins have done a good job this season of keeping Alexandra Moogan in check. Moogan is the 3-point specialist for the Bulldogs and has been held to 13 and 9 points, respectively.
News & Notes:  Neither team has won back-to-back games against each other since Brooklyn did it during the 2016 season where they defeated the Dolphins in the CUNYAC Semifinal then again in the ECAC Championship. That season was also the last time these teams met in the semifinal, however, each team has risen the trophy over the last two years. The Dolphins seem to play Brooklyn better away from home as they have defeated the Bulldogs on two straight occasions in Brooklyn, NY. In Brooklyn, the Dolphins are 18-10 all-time, however, over the last 10 meetings Staten Island is just 4-6 against the Bulldogs. In the semis, the Dolphins are 16-11 all-time, however, they are just 2-5 against Brooklyn in the playoffs. Staten Island will look to keep their win streak in Brooklyn alive tonight to advance to the finals which will take place at Hunter College.
