The College of Staten Island softball unit is looking to come back to Staten Island from their Florida trip with a win under their belt, hoping to overturn a six-game losing streak when they face off against Albright College and SUNY-Plattsburgh, beginning at 9:30am today.

Players to Watch (CSI): CSI has three players batting over the .300 mark, led by Patricia Riches with a mark of .579 (11-19).  She also leads the team with four doubles and four runs scored.  Sierra Kaplanek has boosted her average to an even .500 (8-16), boasting a team-best five RBI.  Antoinette Galbo is at .368, with a pair of runs scored.  The leader in the circle in Jaclyn Kateridge, as she is 0-5 this season with a respectable 3.66 ERA.  She has pitched 28.2 if CSI’s 37 innings so far in Florida.
Players to Watch (AC): Albright is batting .373 as a team through four games, led by Camille Sears’ .750 (6-8) with two homers and 7 RBI.  Jordan Chell is batting .636 (7-11) with a pair of doubles, while Abigail Lord is at .545 with five RBI and four runs scored.  In the circle, Lynsie Grant has pitched in all four games with two starts, boasting a 2-0 record with a 3.23 ERA.
Players to Watch (PLATT): Senior Kaitlyn Preiss helps lead the Cardinal infield, as she is a three-time All-SUNYAC honoree and a one-time NFCA All-Northeast Region recipient as a shortstop. Preiss enters the season with a .333 career batting average, 139 hits and 22 steals. Look for her to be a reliable bat in the lineup in addition to being a solid defensive presence when she plays as a shortstop this year.
News & Notes:  There is no history between these three teams so the meeting today will be the first in their respective histories.  Albright is a member of the MAC conference.  They finished 14-19 last year.  They were predicted to finish eighth among nine conference teams this season.  As for Plattsburgh, they participate in the SUNY Athletic Conference.  They finished an even 19-19 last year.
