Queens, NY | In their final tune-up before the CUNYAC Championships this coming weekend, the College of Staten Island men’s and women’s track and field teams debuted at the Tom Farrell Classic, hosted by St, John’s University.  The meet was non-scoring, but CSI had plenty of highlights from start to finish.

WOMEN’S MEET

100-meter Dash – CSI placed 20th and 27th overall with Vassageia Watson posting a time of 14.68 and Victoria Sanchez coming in to finish at 15.86.

400-meter Dash – Only Rachel Edmonds showcased here and she finished in the top 20 with a 19th-place finish by virtue of her run of 1:09.96.

3K Run – Kharyn Ethridge finished in second place overall, earning a time or 12:00.21, second only to Lehman College’s Glory Odeh, who topped out at 11:44.36.

3K Steeplechase – Victoria DeBernardo posted a 5th-place finish with a time of 16:36.02.

Long Jump – In the first flight, Watson scored a distance of 14’9.25″ meters good for 10th, while Sarah Andes finished 22nd after flight 2 with a distance of 12’11.5″.

Shot Put – CSI had three in this event, led by Stephanie Da Silva’s distance of 6.76 meters, which was good enough for 20th.  Tracey Simon was next, posting a distance of 6.48 meters, good for 22nd, followed by Ommiya Butt’s distance of 4.50 meters which placed her 27th.

Javelin – This was CSI’s most attended event, and they were led by Edmonds’ seventh-place finish with a distance of 25.58 meters.  Cassidy Iannariello was next in line at 23.74, taking eighth overall.  Vanessa Mansur placed 18th at 13.80, while DaSilva was next in line in 19th with a mark of 13.10 meters.  Tristiana Adragna placed 27th in the event, posting a distance of eight meters even.

MEN’S MEET

100-meter Dash – Jordan Thompson posted an 11.47 time which placed him 15th in the field and tops for CSI.  Jared Nusser was also on hand, posting a time of 11.68 which was good for 22nd.

200-meter Dash – Both Thompson and Nusser participated in the 200 as well, with Thompson posting a time of 23.08, good for 18th.  Nusser’s mark of 23.21 put him in 21st overall.

800-meter Run – Liam McMunn was the leader here for CSI putting up a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:56.63.

5K Run – Spencer Milito scored a 17:19.15 finish here, posting a seventh-place finish.
