#9 – Dolphins come back for CUNYAC Tournament win over John Jay College
Date: October 30, 2018
Who: CSI Men’s Soccer
Where: Brooklyn College – Brooklyn, NY
What Happened: In the CUNYAC Postseason Tournament Semifinals, the top-seeded Dolphins fell behind early to No. 4 John Jay College, 1-0, and things looked bleak when the lead stood deep into the second half. That changed, however when Ryan Layman nailed a free kick into goal with 25 minutes to go. The game would go to overtime, and there, leading scorer Bryant Navarro was the hero. Philip Lefkowitz would find him on a through ball that he would nail into the goal less than a minute into the extra stanza, giving CSI the golden goal win, 2-1. CSI would go on to face Baruch College in the CUNYAC Championship a few days later. The win for the Dolphins in the game against John Jay completed the two-game sweep over the Bloodhounds for the season and gave the Dolphins their 15th win of the 2018 season, a new program record.
