The College of Staten Island Men’s & Women’s Cross-Country teams will be looking to build on a solid 2018 campaign, and have announced their 2019 lineup of meets as they get set to welcome in the preseason training period in the weeks to come. Under new head coach Andrew Gangemi, the team will be looking to rise through the ranks in this, their first year as a provisional NCAA Division II institution.
CSI will begin their campaign by travelling upstate to the Purchase College Invitational. The very next week, CSI will be officially welcomed in by fellow East Coast Conference institution, New York Tech, as they participate at their Invitational in Old Westbury.
After a stopover at Bard College, CSI will look to host their own invitational at Clove Lakes Park on September 29, however, restoration and construction may derail the event. More information on the meet will be provided in the coming days.
An exciting part of the cross-country slate this season will be the unit’s official entry into the East Coast Conference Postseason Championship. CSI runners will be at the event and participating, testing their strengths against some of the region’s and nation’s finest Division II runners.
