While the events of this term have required that we move away from our traditional campus-based formats and engage in more remote forms of learning and sharing, we should not turn away from the pressing global issues that remain present. Our World on Wednesday lecture series was designed to bring a glimpse of the larger global environment to all of us at CSI.

Title:  Peace Corps Info Session: Education Programs

Speaker: Sara Price, Peace Corps

Summary: Educate our world through the Peace Corps. Education and English-teaching specialists are needed to address global education and training needs at grassroots levels. Come speak with a recruiter to learn more about opportunities to live, learn, and work with a community overseas.

Speaker:  Yun Heo, Visiting Scholar from South Korea

Summary: Ms. Heo will discuss the elementary, middle, and high-school English educational system in South Korea. She will also share her personal teaching experience as an English teacher throughout her career of teaching.

Speaker:  Pascale Benoliel, Visiting Scholar from Bar-Ilan University, Israel

Summary: Prof. Benoliel will focus on the influences of “education governance” on educational policies worldwide.

Summary: Ms. Jung will share her experience taking CUNY’s Social Welfare course.  She will also share how Koreans make contributions to the community.

Title:  Telehealth from a Legal Perspective

Speaker:  Dayun Kim, Visiting Scholar from South Korea 

Summary: Ms. Kim will discuss a legal perspective between a patient and a physician during a telehealth meeting, especially during this unprecedented time.
