The Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars will host its fully online 35th Annual Conference with the theme “Moving Forward: The Future of Collaboration in Our Diverse World,” Monday and Tuesday, May 24 and 25 from 11:00am to 7:00pm EST. Research paper and poster presentations will be shared online with videoconferencing and screen-sharing technology. The keynote speaker for this year is Christine Pope who is the Senior Network Director of Welcoming America. The topic is “Messaging Strategies to Foster Belonging.”
Presenters will discuss preferred methods in global teaching and learning from a diverse array of academic disciplines and global perspectives. Four CSI PBD Eta Lambda Chapter members (students and faculty) are presenting at the conference. Come and support your fellow peers. The CSI Chapter has paid the registration fees, providing free registration for PBD members.
PBD at the national level has embarked on a Matching Fund Campaign. A $7,500 matching challenge grant has been issued to members and friends of the Society. The grant will match your donations dollar for dollar for a combined $15,000. If you are interested in a lifetime membership, 75% of the lifetime membership fee ($225 of $300) will be applied to the matching fund. The campaign runs through Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Contributions of any amount are welcome and can be made through the “donate” button on the main page of the Society’s Website.
The Society’s first scholarships will be awarded at the annual meeting in May. The application deadline was Thursday, Apr. 23. See the Society’s Website for details.
