The Office of Student Life – Pluralism & Diversity invites the CSI community to celebrate Hispanic-Latinx Heritage Month. This month is celebrated from Wednesday, Sept. 15 to Friday, Oct. 15. We hope you will join us to learn and celebrate these diverse and wonderful communities.

Our first event is “Sur Latino en Tiempos de Intolerancia Racial” (Being Latino in Times of Racial Intolerance) on Thursday, Sept. 9. More information is available online.

Speaker: Dr. Oswaldo Estrada – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Dr. Estrada is Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies and a celebrated Peruvian-American author. He won the 2020 Premio de la Feria Internacional del Libro Latino at Tufts, and two of his books won Latino Book Awards in 2020. He will speak about being an immigrant writer, questions of identity, and will read from his work. The talk will be in Spanish.

This program is in honor of Hispanic-Latinx Heritage Month at CSI. It is co-sponsored by the Minor in Latin America, Caribbean, and Latina/o Studies; the Department of World Languages and Literatures; and the Office of Student Life – Pluralism and Diversity.
