In what has become routine for the College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving teams, The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named both units to its list of Scholar All-America teams for the Fall 2021 Semester. Over 450 institutions were recently named to the list, and CSI was one of the many with both men’s and women’s teams earning the citation. The CSI’s women earned a sensational 3.43 GPA, while the CSI men boasted a 3.11 GPA, putting them on the short list of NCAA Division II schools to achieve the honor.

For the CSI women, the fall semester marks their tenth appearance on the list in the last 11 semesters. The CSI men made good on their appearance in the spring, and this is their sixth-straight year earning honors from the CSCAA.

“This is a major accomplishment for both of our programs, it is always the first goal we discuss as a team at our pre season meeting,” said Head Coach Michael Ackalitis. “The success we have in the classroom often translates to success in the pool, and we look forward to proving that with our championship just around the corner.”

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
