Join us for a conversation with Peace Officers and a Self-Defense Workshop on Thursday, Mar. 10 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm in the Campus Center (Building 1C) Green Dolphin Lounge. Refreshments will be served at this PG CLUE event.

Michael Lederhandler, Chief of Public Safety at CSI, and a member of the NYPD will share their daily work with the CSI community.  This informal conversation provides a platform to avoid misunderstanding and enrich a positive relationship among the CSI community. Catherine Ferrara, Esq., Chief Diversity Officer and Title IX Coordinator will be the moderator.

The program will continue with an in-person self-defense workshop by The Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE), where they will teach a simple but very useful technique of how to keep our students safe. Students will walk away with tools to apply to a range of interpersonal situations, from physical skills to verbal, emotional, and social techniques.

This program is funded by the Campus Activities Board using the Student Activity Fees and is sponsored by the Center for Global Engagement, CSI Public Safety, Bertha Harris Women’s Center, and the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program .Contact Winnie Brophy, Director of Special Programs and Initiatives, at Winnie.Brophy@csi.cuny.edu for more information.
