The Center for Career and Professional Development hosted a festive informational day for students on November 3 at the Campus Center to foster renewed in-person connections and to highlight the range of services that prepare students for internships and employment, including creating effective résumés and cover letters; interview skills; self-branding with a great LinkedIn profile and professional photo; and a newly designed Career Center Webpage that offers a wealth of information and resources to enhance every aspect of a career path.
The Center’s staff greeted students throughout the day to answer career readiness questions, and invited students to make follow-up appointments to chart a course unique to their career goals. Students were also advised that they can have a professional LinkedIn photo taken at the Center’s dedicated photo studio, every Thursday during Club Hours.
Giveaways, snacks, and raffle prizes added to the event. Support was provided by ASAP through the Morgan Stanley Career Exploration Fund and generous raffle donors: Auxiliary Services/Campus Dining; Ho ‘Brah, The Kettle Black, Jimmy Max restaurants and New York New York Salon. In addition, all students who follow up with an appointment at the Center as a result of the event will be entered into a raffle for a $100 VISA gift card, generously provided by The Friends of CSI.
The Center for Career and Professional Development is located in Building 1A, Room 105 and can be reached at 718.982.2300. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to take a look at our new Webpage: https://www.csi.cuny.edu/campus-life/student-services/center-career-and-professional-development.
