We hope that your Friday has been well and that you are preparing for a rejuvenating weekend as we are coming to the end of January. As a College, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge the significance of Jan. 27. On January 27, 1945, the largest concentration camp was liberated. Jan. 27 was designated as the International Holocaust Remembrance Day by the United Nations General Assembly with a desire for all to remember the victims of the Holocaust. During these times of increased hostility and tension, CSI and CUNY remain committed to combating all forms of discrimination and hate. We do so in various ways, like today, in asking that our community join us in remembering the Holocaust.
Queensboro Community College houses The Harriet & Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Center, which offers virtual and in-person exhibitions, public programming, online educational resources, and recorded events. We encourage you to explore their site to learn more and share this message of remembrance within our community.
