On Tuesday, Governor Kathy Hochul delivered her State of the State Address, and in it was a call to help expand funding for NYC’s P-Tech program (Pathways to Technology Early College High School), of which CSI is a partner with Port Richmond High School. As reported on in the Staten Island Advance, Gov. Hochul is investing an additional $20M in support of the program. Staten Island established its program in 2020, where enrolled Port Richmond students undergo a six-year curriculum that allows them to receive a high school diploma and a tuition-free associate degree from CSI.
