Join us for the 37th PHI BETA DELTA Honor Society for International Scholars Webinar Conference, Global Learning and Scholarship: Cultivating Community, Connection, and Collaboration Across Disciplines and Institutions, Tuesday-Wednesday, May 23-24 from 11:00am to 8:00pm.

Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars will host a fully online conference for 2023 with research papers and poster presentations. Presenters will discuss preferred methods in global teaching and learning from a diverse array of academic disciplines and global perspectives.

The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Chuyun Oh, discussing “To All Dreamers: What K-Pop Dance Teaches Us.”

Biography: Dr. Chuyun Oh (PhD, UT Austin) is a Fulbright scholar and Associate Professor of Dance Theory at San Diego State University. Her book K-Pop Dance: Fandoming Yourself on Social Media (Routledge) became the #1 Amazon New Release in Communications and Pop Dance in July 2022. Her award-winning scholarship has appeared in more than 50 global media sources, top-tier journals, and anthologies. During her early career, she received her ballet training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet, Washington, DC, and the Sun Hwa Arts School, Korea, and she performed across the world receiving international dance competition awards. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Hamilton College, NY and serves on the editorial board of Text and Performance Quarterly and Review of Communication. She will be talking about the poppin’ power of K-Pop.

The CSI PBD Eta Lambda Chapter is providing free registration for PBD members and to members of the CSI community to this very special event, which also features presentations from CSI faculty.
