I would like to take this time to share the Fall 2023 final exam schedule so you may prepare for the upcoming semester. Please pay special attention to the information provided regarding Reading Days and Departmental Exams.
The University Academic Calendar has established that, for Fall 2023:
-Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13 are designated as Reading Days, AND
-The final exam period will run from Thursday, Dec. 14-Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023.
Tuesday, Dec. 12: departmental final exams for CHM
Wednesday, Dec. 13: departmental final exams for BIO/CSC
Thursday, Dec. 14: final exams for Tuesday/Thursday classes and all Thursday-only classes; departmental final exams for MTH given during Club Hours only (2:30pm-4:25pm).
Friday, Dec. 15: final exams for all Friday-only classes.
Saturday, Dec. 16: final exams for all Saturday-only classes.
Sunday, Dec. 17: final exams for all Sunday-only classes.
Monday, Dec. 18: final exams for Monday/Wednesday classes and all Monday-only classes.
Tuesday, Dec. 19: final exams for Tuesday/Thursday classes and all Tuesday-only classes.
Wednesday, Dec. 20: final exams for Monday/Wednesday classes and all Wednesday-only classes.
Note that non-departmental exams, review sessions, or other required/organized class activities CANNOT be scheduled on the designated Reading Days. The Office of the Registrar will not reserve classroom space for any other purposes on the Reading Days or when final exams are scheduled.
Departmental final exams are listed above for subjects that combine sections of a class and/or need longer than the regular class period to administer. Please work with students who have conflicts.
Regular final exams for all synchronous classes (which include time patterns in CUNYfirst) are to be given during their regularly scheduled meeting time, following the schedule above. Adherence to this schedule will avoid conflicts for our students during exam time. Since asynchronous classes do not have scheduled meeting times, final exam arrangements for non-departmental exams may vary.
Lastly, as an early alert, final grades are due no later than 11:59pm on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023.
