The CSI Faculty Center for Professional Development will present “Self-Archiving Your Research: CUNY Academic Works vs Research Gate and Academic.edu” on Wednesday, Aug. 16 in the Library (Building 1L) Room 214 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
This in-person session will cover the purpose of self-archiving your research in an open access institutional repository–CUNY Academic Works–and the benefits of doing so. We will look at ResearchGate and Academia.edu to determine the differences between these types of Websites vs. open-access repositories. Attendees will log onto CUNY Academic Works in the Library Digital Lab (1L-214) to practice uploading a published work in real-time, in a sandbox format with live assistance.
General copyright information as it pertains to open access repositories will also be addressed.
Presenter: Christina Boyle, Assistant Professor and Emerging Technologies Librarians, Department of the Library
