The Staten Island Advance has featured Governor Hochul’s recent announcement of a $2 million expansion of the CUNY Associates of Applied Science College Apprenticeship program, which will add new employers, including Bloomberg, Travelers and Northwell Health, to its list of companies providing paid apprenticeships to students pursuing associate degrees.

The apprenticeships will be available to students at the College of Staten Island, Medgar Evers College, and New York City College of Technology, and all seven CUNY community colleges, all of which offer Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degrees.

The AAS degree programs are two-year programs that prepare students to jump straight into a career following graduation, as opposed to most associate degrees, which typically lead students to a bachelor’s degree program.
