If you are interested in applying for National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) summer stipend for 2025, please review this email carefully.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has a deadline of Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 for applications for stipends for summer 2025. Prospective applicants must be nominated by their institution and each college may nominate only two faculty. In order to allow sufficient time for in-house review should there be more than two prospective nominees, we have established the following timeline and procedures:

  1. Faculty who would like to request nomination should declare their interest by sending a brief email to Priscila Villacis not later than 5:00pm this Friday, May 24
  1. Please be aware that if there are more than two potential nominees, all potential applicants will be notified and will be asked to submit a draft of the project description, not more than two pages in length, and a statement of how the Summer Stipend would move the nominee’s work ahead, due by Friday, June 14.

2) A faculty review committee will be established to recommend nominees.

3) The selected nominees will be notified by Friday, June 28 and will then have the summer to prepare their full application to the NEH.

Selected nominees are expected to make a commitment to completing the full application and to meeting the Sept. 18 NEH deadline.
