CSI Athletics hosted its 2024 golf outing fundraiser on Tuesday, September 10 at Silver Lake Golf Course welcoming in well over 100 golfers for one of the program’s most important annual events.  The event began early in the morning with a 7 AM grab and go breakfast ahead of an 8 AM shotgun start.  Participating golfers, raffles, and sponsorships all helped generate funds used to support the operational costs of CSI Athletics.

Each year, the CSI Athletics Golf Outing sees current and former staff, alumni, and student-athletes come together in support of the program that has given them all so much over the years.  This year was no different as all of the attendees arrived for the early breakfast, followed by a day of golf and a meal at Jimmy Max Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria.  In addition to the attendees who actively participated in golfing, many more volunteered their time to ensure that this year’s event once again showcased the best of CSI Athletics.

In addition to the raffles and various contests to keep everyone engaged throughout the day, golfers were also treated to special gifts at several holes courtesy of the event’s many sponsors.  Sponsorship revenue, along with all of the proceeds generated from the event, are utilized to fund items such as team travel, meals, and scholarships.  The event, in addition to raising money, also provides the opportunity for CSI Athletics to engage with alumni, sponsors, the community, and those who offer their support the program.

Event coordinator Michael Mauro expressed his gratitude for all of those who helped make the day possible. “The business owners of Staten Island always come through for this program and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity,” Mauro said.  “Seeing local businesses getting involved with their hometown college is awesome, and each year we get the chance to welcome new businesses to the family.  We had many alumni return and even some companies outside of Staten Island got involved in offering their support.  As always, days like today make me proud to be a part of the CSI family.”
