Election day is Tuesday, Nov 5.  Please review the CUNY Time to Vote Notice to employees, which is also posted on the University Human Resources Website. This guidance applies to Nov. 5, 2024 only, and not to the early voting period:

• Employees are eligible for voting leave only if they do not have four consecutive hours either between the opening of the polls and the beginning of their working shift, or between the end of their working shift and the closing of the polls; and

• Employees who do not have a four-hour window are eligible to take off only as much working time as will enable, when added to their voting time outside working hours, the employee to vote, up to three hours of which time must be without loss of pay.

• Employees may take the time off at the beginning or end of the working shift, as the employer may designate, unless otherwise mutually agreed.

• Employees must notify their employer no less than two days, but no more than ten days, before the day of the election that they will take time off to vote.

If an employee plans to take time off to vote per the guidelines above, they should indicate the hours on their corresponding time sheet. Early voting takes place between Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 and Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024. Time off to vote is not available for early voting. Early Voting | New York State Board of Elections (ny.gov)
