The College of Staten Island Baseball Team is scheduled to begin the 2025 season today at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park against the Bloomfield College Bears. They will then head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for their annual Spring Training trip where they will remain through Monday, February 24th.

Though the team did not reach the postseason last year, Head CoachMichael Mauro, who returns for his seventeenth season did reach 300 wins for his career. Chris Polemeni also set a new single-season stolen bases record, and the Dolphins left their fans with plenty of memorable highlights.

Like last year, Mauro added a pair of new assistants this offseason in Saverio Nardone and former Dolphin John Esposito. Also new to the roster are 13 first-year Dolphins. Upon returning from Myrtle Beach, the team will have some time off ahead of a very busy week from March 1-8. The Dolphins will play four doubleheaders during that stretch as well as single games against Georgian Court and Caldwell University. The team will later open conference play on March 21 against Molloy and will end the season with four straight conference games at home against D’Youville.

Heroes Day will also return to the schedule once again on Thursday, April 24. against Felician University. This will see the event increase in size as the game will be played at SIUH Community Park. While there is plenty to look forward to on the CSI schedule this year, the team is determined to make their first appearance in the East Coast Conference playoffs this season. The Dolphins saw their bid for a playoff spot come down to the final weekend two seasons ago, but the team was eliminated from contention in mid-April of 2024.
