Join us on Tuesday, Apr. 22 (Earth Day) in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P), Room 223 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm to view segments of the Netflix documentary Buy Now followed by a group discussion. If possible, we encourage attendees to view the entire documentary before the event.
This subversive documentary unpacks the tricks that brands use to keep us consuming — and the real impact they have on our lives and the world. These negative impacts, including waste, environmental destruction of the global south, and poor working conditions for those who make our products, must be countered by all of us. Young people around the world are starting to buy less to save energy, resources, and money. Join us to discuss this movement, and other solutions within CSI and beyond.
