The Eta Lambda Chapter of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars at CSI recently inducted 17 faculty, staff, scholars and students, and an administrator on March 18, 2025 into the prestigious society in its 13th Induction Ceremony. Please view the online gallery.
Dr. David Allen, Professor in the School, of Education, kicked off the event with greetings to the audience. Dr. Jane Marcus-Delgado, past President of the CSI Chapter, introduced our keynote speaker and a Fulbright Scholar Dr. Susan Sanz Caballero from Valencia, Spain. Susana Sanz-Caballero is Full Professor of Public International Law at University Cardenal Herrera CEU (Valencia, Spain) and Jean Monnet Chair (obtained twice, in 2004 and 2017). She is also a member of the Council of the Association of members of the René Cassin Foundation-International Institute of Human Rights (Strasbourg, France). The topic of Dr. Sanz Caballero is “Building Networks, Advancing Research, and Strengthening Democracy: A Spanish Perspective on Academic Exchanges.”
This year, our Student VP Mariam Hanna founded a student club, the Phi Beta Delta Global Exchange Society. The club aims to promote cross-cultural academic exchange by organizing discussions, seminars, and collaborative projects that explore global perspectives and diverse viewpoints. The club members welcome everyone to join them.
The Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars is pleased to announce that the 2025 Phi Beta Delta International Webinar Conference will be on Monday, April 28, 2025. The theme will be “Navigating New Realities: Supporting Global Scholars in a Changing World.” This year, there will be a separate session for students. We encourage our chapter members to present. Once again, the CSI chapter is sponsoring group registration for this conference for the CSI community, whom we encourage to present at the conference. Visit the national Website for more information.
The chapter also thanks CSI PBD members for remitting their membership dues and additional contributions in support our students and the mission of the Eta Lambda chapter. Please note that of the $30 membership fee, $15 is for the support of our students, and the balance of $15 is submitted to PBD headquarters.
