As the calendar turns to May, the Music program at the College of Staten Island is proud to present a series of events for the community over the next two weeks, all of which will be featured LIVE on CSI-TV. The OMNI Ensemble – Tuesday, May 6 | 1P-120 | 3pm

Professor David Wechsler leads this ever-evolving chamber ensemble in a program of contemporary and traditional classical compositions

The CSI Chorus – Tuesday, May 13 | 1P-120 | 3pm

Professor Marina Alexander leads the CSI Chorus in a program of contemporary and traditional choral compositions.

CSI Young Artists Recital – Tuesday, May 13 |1P-120 | 7pm

Professor Sylvia Kahan supervises this showcase of student performances that feature works from a variety of genres, including classical music and jazz.

CSI Jazz Ensemble – Wednesday, May 14 | Lab Theatre | 7pm

Professor Darrell Smith leads the CSI Jazz Ensemble in a program of jazz standards and original compositions.

CSI Jazz Repertory Combo – Thursday, May 15 | 1P-120 | 3pm

The CSI Jazz Repertory Combo provides an hour-long program of jazz compositions. The students are mastering the art of jazz improvisation in a small group setting. Highly demanding and deeply satisfying.

CSI Electronic Music Festival – Thursday, May 22 | Lab Theatre | 7pm

Innovation is their middle name. The students present original composition created for electronic performance. Some will also perform on traditional instruments along with the electronic music. The results are electrifying.
