This message is only intended for adjuncts who are newly eligible for Adjunct Health Insurance in Fall 2025. If you are currently enrolled and you fulfill both the current hours requirement and the requirement that no other coverage has become available to you, then there is nothing that you need to do at this time. Your coverage will continue.
Requirements for initial eligibility.
Adjunct health insurance is available to you if you are an adjunct employed by CUNY (excluding the Research Foundation or work through grant-support) and you meet the following three criteria:
1. You are not covered by or eligible to be covered by other basic health insurance by virtue of employment of self or spouse or through government entitlement.
2. You have fulfilled the continuity requirement.
3. You fulfill the current hours requirement.

Health insurance is provided by the NYC Office of Labor Relations. Please see online pdf for the current rate sheet for health insurance plans*. The zero premium health plans (no monthly premium) are GHI-CBP, HIP Prime HMO, and Metro Plus Gold. .

*Coverage under the adjunct plan is individual-only. Family health insurance premiums must be paid on a monthly basis. The family premium will be deducted from your bank account. It is not possible to deduct premiums from your paycheck.
Prescriptions, dental, vision and hearing aid benefits are provided by the PSC Welfare Fund at no cost to the eligible adjunct faculty member**. For information on the PSC benefits (dental, vision, drug and hearing aid) see below:

**Coverage under the adjunct plan is individual-only. Family premiums must be paid on a quarterly basis. Enrollment in NYC-basic health insurance, family coverage, is requisite. The Welfare Fund Family Enrollment Supplement form is online.

3. Adjunct Health Insurance Certification Form
4. Adjunct Health Insurance Verification Form
5. Adjunct Recurring Payment Election Form (ACH) and copy of a voided check (only necessary if you choose a plan with a premium)
6) Death Benefit Beneficiary Designation Card
Effective dates and deadline to enroll.
The effective date for the Health Insurance plan is Tuesday, Aug. 26 2025 and the effective date for prescriptions, dental, vision, and hearing aid benefits is Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, provided that all the completed enrollment forms are received by the deadline of 5:00pm Monday, Sept. 22, 2025.

- You may email your enrollment package (you will be filling out a minimum of five forms above – six if you have a premium) as one password-protected pdf to Anne Alarcon, Anne.Alarcon@csi.cuny.edu . Send the password in a separate email. Please do not send Jpegs or gifs. We need the forms as one password-protected pdf file.

2) You can drop off completed forms at Human Resources, Building 1A, Room 201, between the hours of 9:am and 5:00pm starting, Monday, Aug. 25, 2025 until Monday, September, 22, 2025.
