The Drama Program of Performing and Creative Arts at the College of Staten Island presents Alice in Slasherland, a wildly inventive horror-comedy by award-winning playwright Qui Nguyen, running November 13-22 in the Center for the Arts’ intimate Lab Theatre (1P-110).
When awkward high-schooler Lewis accidentally resurrects a vengeful demon from the depths of hell, his life takes a turn for the horrific — and hilarious. With the help of his wise-cracking best friend Edgar, and the mysterious new girl Alice, Lewis must battle demonic forces, survive teenage drama, and confront the ultimate evil…all before prom night.
“Alice in Slasherland is like a live-action anime crossed with a horror movie, with tons of fights, humor, and heart. And a talking demon teddy bear.”— Lee Papa, Director.
A wild mash-up of horror flicks, fairy tales, and dark comedy, Alice in Slasherland is playwright Qui Nguyen’s blood-splattered love letter to B-movies and pop culture — blending razor-sharp humor, heartfelt friendship, and over-the-top supernatural mayhem.
The cast will feature talented CSI student performers Gary Fleming (Lewis), Nelie Ramos (Margaret), Skyyla Mark (Alice), Ugonna-David Okeiche (Edgar), Jasmine Gonzalez (Tina), Anthony Clausen (Duncan/Gareth), James Rodriguez (Jacob/Sheriff), Nicholas DePalma (Tomy/Hurt), Autumn Phillips (T-Bone/Burnout/Deputy/Matilda).

Fick (Set/Lighting/Costume/Projections) includes Mano Merca (Sound Design), Emma Ferguson (Costume Design), Christina Werkmeister (Production Manager), Austin Maida (Projection Design/Assistant Director/Stage Manager), Danielle Kuftiak (Assistant Stage Manager), Austin Maida (Projection Design), Javan Zapata, Regan Sou (Fight Choreography), Anthony Clausen (Assistant Fight Choreographer).
