Information Technology Services is writing to inform you about CSI’s email transition to a new CUNY email account taking place over Spring Break. This is an improvement over your current CSI email, as the new CUNY email account will provide you with:

  • One Microsoft 365 mailbox and one login for ALL your colleges and CUNY email addresses.
  • Confidence that you will receive all official CSI and University emails.
  • Full integration with other Microsoft 365 applications to facilitate file sharing and collaboration with classmates and faculty.
  • More security against phishing and malicious links, and less spam.

Your New Mailbox and Email Addresses

  • On April 13, your new CUNY email account and mailbox will be your CUNY Login account:  firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu
  • The following email addresses are automatically associated with your new CUNY mailbox:
  • Firstname.lastname##@stu-mail.csi.cuny.edu – your new CSI assigned email address. 
  • Firstname.lastname##@cuny.edu – your new University email address.
  • If you currently have multiple college email addresses, you will get a new college-branded email address for each that is associated with your new CUNY mailbox. 

If you want to keep things simple, you can use Firstname.lastname##@cuny.edu. However, the above options are available to you.

On April 13:

  • The email in your current CSI mailbox will automatically be copied to your new CUNY mailbox.
  • You will continue to have access to your current CSI email account for an extended period should you need any content. However, you will not be able to send from this account AFTER April 13.
  • Any new email sent to your current CSI email account will be automatically forwarded to your new CUNY mailbox, and those senders will receive an autoreply message notifying them of your new email address for future reference.
  • Please note that your SLAS login will not be impacted by these changes.
