Farmingdale State College overpowered the College of Staten Island women, 81-55, in a non-conference contest at the CSI Sports and Recreation Center. The Dolphins fall to a 5-13 record while the Rams extended to a 13-5 record.
 
Despite the final score, the Dolphins held a strong lead in the first half. The Rams only had the lead twice to start with CSI taking a lead as high as 10 with 2:18 remaining. An 11-2 lead in the last two minutes put the Rams within one at half time, 33-32.
 
The teams traded 8 turnovers in the first two minutes of the second half before the Rams could get control and begin a lead they would hold until game’s end. Beginning at the 8:40 mark, Farmingdale went on a 20-0 until the 4:38 mark. The Dolphins would score just five more points for the rest of the game.
 
The Rams scored 23 points off of CSI turnovers. CSI shot 75% from the foul line, 12 for 16.
 
Allie Shanahan had 26 points and 8 rebounds for CSI while Katelyn Hepworth added 16 points and 9 rebounds. Nicole Quattrocchi totaled 7 points.
 
The Rams were led by Kayla Koch’s 19 points and Nikita Green’s 14 points.
 
The Dolphins will travel to Brooklyn, NY on Friday afternoon for a 5:00 pm contest against City Tech.
