Cesar Arenas-Mena

Earned a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Barcelona, Spain. His research career began with the study of water stress genes in plants. He conducted his postdoctoral work at Caltech in developmental biology, gene regulation and evolution. As Assistant Professor, at San Diego State University, Dr. Arenas-Mena taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and was awarded a research grant from the National Institute of Health for his study of cellular multipotency in model invertebrate embryos. His most recent publication, in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, proposes novel regulatory and evolutionary mechanisms of animal development.
