Earned her Ph.D. in Education from the University of New Hampshire, with concentration in science education and curriculum development. At the University of New Hampshire, she taught the Practicum Seminar for the Masters of Environmental Education program, while pursuing her research interests in Environmental Science education at the secondary level. Previously, Dr. Blatt received her M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania. She has taught high school Biology, Earth Science and Environmental Science in settings as diverse as inner city Philadelphia, Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, and in Costa Rica. Dr. Blatt’s recently completed dissertation is an ethnographic study of an Environmental Science high school classroom, investigating the process of change in students’ environmental identity and pro-environmental behavior during the course. She plans to pursue future research at the secondary level, evaluating current curricula and helping teachers effectively incorporate environmental topics into their science teaching.
