Earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the University of Edinburgh and her Ph.D. from University College, London. Her research objectives revolve around the themes of low-temperature geochemistry and sedimentology, the interpretation of natural chemical cycles within the Earth and the application of such processes to the evaluation and remediation of contaminated sediments. Previously, Dr. Alexander conducted research as an environmental consultant in England and as a post-doctoral researcher at Harvard University. She held the position of Assistant Professor at the College of Staten Island, before taking a career break, and more recently has been teaching earth science and geology at Montclair State University, Kean University and Ramapo College.
