Specializes in Early American and Atlantic World history, with a particular focus on material culture. She has earned Bachelor’s Degrees in History and Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Master’s Degrees in American History from the University of Delaware and East Carolina University, with concentration in Public History and Museum Studies. In 2009, she received her Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization from the University of Delaware – her work earned the prize for best dissertation in the humanities. Last year, Dr. Anishanslin was the Patrick Henry Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of History at Johns Hopkins University. Her fellowships include grants from the Harvard Atlantic Seminar, the McNeil Center for Early American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, the Luce Foundation/American Council of Learned Societies and the Winterthur Museum.
