Daniel Hoover became aware of the unmet medical needs of the general community after working with Autistic individuals for several years when taking care of his paternal grandmother as she slowly became disabled by dementia. After exploring his options, he decided to enter into the Physician Assistant Program at Bayley Seton. Though he found the training and the program stimulating, he needed more to satisfy his intellectual curiosity. He learned much about the diagnosis and treatment of human disease, but had little knowledge of the mechanisms which brought out the dysfunction. He entered into a Ph.D. program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and completed a Ph.D. in Human Pathology and Immunology, essentially to round out his knowledge. He wishes to use his knowledge and experience to enrich the students of the forthcoming CSI PA program.
