Eric Mathesis I received a B.A. in French and economics, University of Kansas, an M.A. in French, also from the University of Kansas, and an M.A. in French from Columbia University. I recently defended Ph.D. dissertation at Columbia University (May 2013) on the lyric poetry of the troubadours and the trouvères. My main area of research interest is French and Occitan literature from the Middle Ages. My most recent position before CUNY was at Indiana University, where I was a Visiting Lecturer and a course coordinator.
