Feng Gu (Assistant Professor) received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from China University of Mining and Technology in 1998 and M.S. degree in information systems from Beijing Institute of Machinery in 2003. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Georgia State University in 2009 and 2011 respectively. His research interests include modeling and simulation, complex systems, and high performance computing. He is a recipient of Natural Science Foundation Research Initiation Award from 2013 to 2014. He was an assistant professor of computer science and the chair of department of computer science and mathematics since 2010 and 2012 respectively at Voorhees College, Denmark, South Carolina. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D. degree, he worked as an assistant engineer in China Coal Research Institute from 1998 to 2000, and a developmental editor in Higher Education Press administered by Ministry of Education of China from 2003 to 2006.
