Ann Daly is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator. She is an alum of the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program, for Art Theory and Practice, where she was a post graduate fellow. She received an MFA from the Yale School of Art.
Ann’s work has been reviewed or published in: Artforum, The Los Angeles Times, Artpress International, Cabinet Magazine, the Performing Arts Journal (PAJ), and The Art Journal. She has received grants from Art Matters, the John Anson Kittredge Fund, and was selected for a Kohler Arts/Industry Residency. Her installations have been exhibited internationally: at the Uppsala KonstMuseum (Sweden), Center Pompidou (Paris), Museum fur Neue Kunst-ZKM (Karlsrühe), Akademie der Künste (Berlin), and in New York at Lombard-Freid Fine Arts, Linda Kirkland Gallery, Exit Art, White Columns, and The Drawing Center, among others.
She has worked as a Freelance Designer for cultural institutions on the East coast including: The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Drawing Center, NYU, The International Center of Art (ICA) Boston, The Worcester Museum of Art, and The Brooklyn and Manhattan Children’s Museums. She worked in the design industry as Director of Media Relations, Web Marketing, and Web Creative, obtaining major press coverage for her client, including: The Huffington Post, DWELL Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Le Figaro, Good Morning America, The New York Times, and more.
Ann’s project based art practice, examines narrative structures at work in certain ‘Scripted Spaces’ of culture (biography, monument, collection, archive, correspondence, index)–engaging the interstices of fiction, reality, memory, perception, and histories, both personal and collective. She worries about Data Rot. Ann lives and works between her studio in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley.
