Please join Hillel at the College of Staten Island and the Department of the Library for an important evening in commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day on Wednesday, Apr. 30 in the Edmond Volpe Library Rotunda (Building 1L).
At 5:00pm, join us for a reception and special viewing of the exhibit, “One Soul: When Humanity Fails” in the CSI Library Rotunda
At the end of World War II, U.S. troops sweeping through Germany discovered evidence of unspeakable crimes against humanity. This exhibition tells of the soldiers who liberated Western Europe and freed the survivors of Nazi persecution.
This will be followed, at 6:30pm, by a lecture by Dr. Charles Small, “Contemporary Global Antisemitism: A Response to the Demonization and Incitement against the Jewish People and Israel within the Academy.”
Dr. Charles Asher Small is the Director of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP). He is also the Koret Distinguished Scholar at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. Dr. Small received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at McGill University, Montreal; an MSc in Urban Development Planning in Economics at the Development Planning Unit (DPU), University College London; and a Doctorate of Philosophy at St. Antony’s College.
