Natalie (Tasha) Kimball earned her PhD in History at the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 and from 2013-2014 served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Colgate University. Tasha’s research focuses on sexuality, reproduction, race and ethnicity, and social movements in Latin America. Her book project is entitled, “An Open Secret: The Hidden History of Unwanted Pregnancy and Abortion in Highland Bolivia, 1952-2010.” Tasha’s work has been supported by an Andrew Mellon Pre-Doctoral Fellowship and a Lillian B. Lawler Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching, among other smaller grants. In 2012, Tasha was honored to receive the University of Pittsburgh’s Iris Marion Young Award for Political Engagement for her work promoting women’s reproductive rights in the United States and Latin America while pursuing a socially engaged and rigorous academic career.
