The Music Program of the Department of Performing and Creative Arts presents the OMNI Ensemble on Thursday, Nov. 6 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall at 2:30pm.
The OMNI Ensemble will begin its 32nd season of concerts and its ninth at the College of Staten Island. Admission is free.
Music Director/flutist David Wechsler and cellist Brian Snow will be joined by guest artists Janey Choi, violin; Louis Day, viola; and Carrie Dowell, violin for performances of flute and string music. The repertoire will include Serenade in C major for string trio by Ernst Dohnányi; Quintet in E flat for flute and strings, Op. 21, No.6 by Luigi Boccherini; Serenade in D major for flute, violin and viola, Op. 25 by L. van Beethoven; Blue Train by John Coltrane; and Theme and Variations by Amy Marcy Beach.
As the chamber music group in residence at the Brooklyn Conservatory, the OMNI Ensemble continues to perform concerts of enormous variety, all designed to provide their audience with a musical diversity not ordinarily encountered by one chamber music group. Throughout the season, they perform in the recital hall at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
