Dr. Ricker Began his study of human memory at Michigan State University where he worked in the Working Memory Laboratory and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He went on to perform his doctoral studies with Dr. Nelson Cowan at the University of Missouri, receiving a Doctorate in Psychology specializing in Cognition and Neuroscience. Dr. Ricker’s research investigates the causes of forgetting in short-term memory situations with a particular focus on the effects of time and multitasking. His scholarly work has been published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition and the Psychonomic Bulletin & Review and he is a consulting editor at the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance. Dr. Ricker was most recently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Missouri working on mathematical models of cognitive process before joining the faculty at the College of Staten Island.
